Yvonne Conte has come a long way from Utica,
New York where she was the second child in her slightly dysfunctional, hysterical
immigrant family. She was a guitar playing folk singer in the 60's with a record album to
her credit. A divorced mother of two in the 70's, Yvonne held several jobs including a
card carrying union carpenter. She learned how to swing a hammer, hang sheet rock and
balance her checkbook. The telecommunications industry brought her much financial success
and the title of salesperson of the year five times in the 80's. Yvonne took three decades
of experience to the stage in the 90's as a stand up comic, radio and television
personality. She was even a clump of grapes at a bar mitzvah. With no
formal education beyond high school, she had persistence and a burning determination to
self-education that has distinguished her as an authority on humor, joy and human
potential. Her eagerness to learn and her uncanny ability to turn every obstacle she faced
into a learning opportunity helped her to rise from a penniless single mom to an award
winning sales person and later from a banquet and night club comedian to a premier keynote
speaker.
Today this 5'1 dynamo is a highly respected, gifted storyteller with a comic edge
and a powerful message about life. She is a member of the National Speakers Association,
author of four books and holds a degree in communication. |
