Demystifying Diversity

Friday, February 26
5 PM - 8 PM

The topic of the event focuses on dispelling the myths that hinder companies from receiving a return on investment from their diversity initiatives. Our guest speaker will reveal hidden facts that are contrary to most business models and styles of management. The presentation is interactive and will allow participants to both ask and answer questions concerning the topic.

About the Speaker: Gary Richardson is President and CEO of Richardson Consulting that specializes in Diversity Education and Mediation. He is a Certified Diversity Facilitator and lead Air National Guard instructor for the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute in Cocoa Beach, FL. As a Certified Mediator for the Department of Defense and the Onondaga County Court System in Syracuse, NY, he has conducted several mediation sessions resulting in positive resolutions.

Since 1999, Gary has trained and educated organizations on the ROI of diversity initiatives and trains over 1000 participants on an annual basis. In 2004, he was appointed as the Equal Opportunity Officer for 174th Fighter Wing, Air National Guard Unit in Syracuse, NY. He has been the Honorary Speaker for Empire State College Commencement Ceremonies and is regularly invited as a Guest Speaker on college campuses across the State of New York. Electrifying is how his teaching style has been described. With a 97.5% positive approval rating, Gary educates participants by delivering an entertaining presentation that keeps audiences engaged from start to finish.

Mr. Richardson is also a 17year veteran with the New York State Police and serves as Station Commander of the SP Schuyler Barracks in Frankfort, NY. Earlier this year, he was selected as the Diversity Chairperson for CNY SHRM and has already formed strong partnerships with local community organizations.

Gary received his undergraduate in Criminal Justice from Empire State College in 2000 and is currently working towards completing an M.B.A.

This program has been approved for 1.0 (General ) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
