Visiting Assistant Professor of Career Development
 
The Department of Marketing & Management at the State University of New York at Oswego invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Career Development.

Salary: Commensurate with rank and experience
 
Date of Appointment: August 2013
 
Description of Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching sections of a career preparation course (Seminar in Career Planning and Job Searching) and liaising with companies for career placement. The Seminar in Career Planning prepares students to negotiate the job search process successfully. Activities include self-assessment, resume development, mock interviews and job searching strategies. The course strengthens students’ professional skills and enhances regional economic linkages. Responsibilities include networking with companies on and off campus and arranging on-campus career placement events. We seek individuals committed to excellence in student learning who can promote students’ ability to succeed in a multicultural and global community.
 
Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and experience with the recruitment process and career placement.
 
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at the university level, experience working with a university career placement center, a proven track record liaising with companies in the Northeastern United States and experience working with diverse students in a multicultural environment are desirable.

Description of Department: The Marketing & Management Department is part of the SUNY-Oswego School of Business (AACSB accredited). The School of Business offers undergraduate degrees in accounting, business administration, finance, human resource management, marketing, operations management and risk management & insurance, a Master of Business Administration degree, a Five Year Accounting Program (BS/MBA), a BA/MBA in Psychology and a BA/MBA in communications. School of Business students also have the option to minor in International Business. In addition to the Oswego campus, classes in the graduate program are offered in Syracuse and online.
