Gypsum Express LTD, a leading truckload carrier, is seeking a Benefits Administrator for the Baldwinsville, NY Corporate Office. This is a newly created position due to growth.  

Benefits Administrator
Responsible for administration of employee benefits for all company locations.  Provides guidance and assistance to all locations on various employee benefit plans. Works with the Manager, of Human Resources to develop, recommend, and modify plans as well as administration of existing plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer employee benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability programs in compliance with carrier contracts.
  • Partners with benefits broker to develop census data to solicit insurance companies for quotes.
  • Incorporates benefit plans and offerings by working with benefits broker to develop announcement material and other media for communicating new and existing plans to employees.
  • Coordinates open enrollment sessions and manages the online process during open enrollment.
  • Advises and counsels all levels of employees on existing benefit programs.
  • Enrolls new employees in benefits programs as well as terminating benefits for employees who are no longer eligible.
  • Works directly with Third Party Administrator for COBRA administration.
  • Assures company compliance with federal and state laws as it relates to health plans.
  • Handles benefit inquiries and issues ensuring a quick and courteous resolution.
  • Prepares reports required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies
  • Develops and coordinates all wellness initiatives.
  • Processes monthly billings from insurance providers. Reviews billings for accuracy. Resolves discrepancies with carriers, payroll and the company. Reviews, amends and breaks the bills down by divisions for the accounting department.
  • Assists the payroll department in processing weekly payroll.
  • Assists the HR Department with special projects or as needed in the completion of work activities.

Qualifications:
  • Requires an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, and 5 to 7 years of benefits administration in a fast paced and high growth environment.
  • Successful candidate must provide a high level of employee service and support.
  • Organized approach to working in a multi-task position with excellent attention to detail and deadlines with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills required.
  • To perform this job successfully, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products is required.
  • Experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
