This year’s conference will deliver content on what HR Professionals need to know from a legal and legislative aspect, in addition to some other prevalent HR topics.  This event includes two keynote speaker presentations and three sets of break-out sessions for participants to choose their preferred topics.

Start the day off with a legal perspective from Lou DiLorenzo from Bond, Schoeneck and King.  Then choose from two break-out sessions; one from Ralph Simone from PLS focused on employee growth and development.  The other break-out session is an open forum where participants get to “Ask the Experts”!  It will include panel members from the NYS Human Rights Division, the NYS Dept of Labor, a Labor Lawyer from Bond, Scheoneck, and King, and the HR Director from MACNY.  The second set of breakout sessions for the day give other participants the opportunity to attend the “Ask the Experts” question and answer session, or gives the option for HR professionals to attend a panel session on “Preparing for and Dealing with the Aftermath of Emergency”.  Given the recent challenges from disasters such as Hurricane Sandy participants can hear this panel speak on topics such as how to be prepared, and how to help employees deal with the tragedy afterwards, as well as a real Company story from PetSmart on what they did to deal with some of the challenges.

The lunch keynote speaker is Tom Minnick from The Business Council and he will be speaking on what new legislation that is either being considered or will be upcoming.  The afternoon break-out sessions will be a choice between Maryann Roefaro, author of the book “Building the Team from the Inside Out” or from Tesia Woodworth from Ralph Benefit Advisors on “The Wellness Trap.”
