HR Generalist

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position is accountable to administer a variety of HR programs and processes at the division headquarters of Eaton’s Cooper Industries’ Crouse-Hinds division. This role focuses on continuous improvement and administration of a variety of HR programs.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
The incumbent must exercise a continuous improvement mindset around HR processes by finding and eliminating non-value work duties surrounding global HR processes. The individual in this role serves as the HR process and systems subject matter expert and serves as a division contact for central service functions, first level resource to field HR representatives, managers and employees as needed.

The incumbent regularly collects, analyzes and interprets HR data from the global business and must therefore have strong database management skills and be proficient in Microsoft office products especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Report writing and employee communications are regularly required of the incumbent. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) are essential as many of the contacts within this global enterprise use English as a second language.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate and administer new employee orientation
  • Responsible for managing employee requisition process for global position vacancies across the division
  • Serves as local subject matter expert for employee benefit plans, coordinating with remote centralized service center, managing monthly HMO billing, coordinating open enrollment meetings, communications and processes
  • Initiates new hire documentation and maintains employee records in HRIS and personnel files
  • Generates requisite reports for regulatory, budgeting and auditing purposes.
  • Coordinate relocation benefits for transferring or newly hired employees
  • Supports various employee relations activities such as supervisory coaching, conducting investigations, and administering discipline
  • Updates and maintains HR policies and procedures
  • Provide administrate support to all HR functions
  • Conduct exit interviews


Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s  degree required  
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of Human Resources experience  
  • Candidate must be analytical and have project management skills
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office products/database management skills
  • Organized, efficient, reliable, self-starter
  • Able to interface with all levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to progress to more senior levels of Human Resources Management function
