Part time – 5 days a week

The primary function of the HR Assistant is to assist the HR Department in the various administrative functions of human resources.

Duties

Assist in the administrative functions of recruiting ‑ including contacting the candidate to schedule post offer, pre‑employment tasks. Is the primary contact with the new hires prior to them starting with the CU. Prepares offer letters based on information provided by the recruiter.

Assists in the administration of the following: service awards for employees; assists department in the administration of benefits, employment and compensation paperwork; reviews and prepares files for offsite storage; prepares an ample supply of new hire packets of information; tracks receipt of performance appraisals and prepares the quarterly reminders, etc.

Keep informed of the latest techniques and advances in the areas of Human Resources, federal and state employment laws. Attend educational sessions. Provide recommendations to the HR Manual.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.

Other Skills: Excellent organization and time management skills required. Above average computer skills expected. Ability to maintain confidentiality expected.
