SRC - Human Resources (HR) Generalist

SRC currently seeks a human resources (HR) generalist for the Syracuse, N.Y. office. This position will support and promote positive, pro-active employee relations by providing and initiating a variety of employee services, activities and communication vehicles. This person will be responsible for providing and maintaining extraordinary levels of service to employees and management through execution of various HR programs and initiatives.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Partner with leadership to align HR programs and initiatives with business objectives
  • Work collaboratively across the HR function to drive initiatives and objectives that support the business
  • Provide advice and counsel to leaders of various experience levels and be a sounding board, source of expert information and coaching to independent contributors
  • Support human resources development and training programs
  • Drive positive employee relations through application of policies and programs that drive employee involvement and ownership. Leads conflict resolution of employee relations issues
  • Maintain accurate information to support electronic and paper employee recordkeeping
  • Facilitate on-boarding processes for new employees
  • Support performance management, development planning and salary administration activities
  • Ensure HR initiatives related to organizational change are aligned with business goals
  • Implement effective and robust change management and communication plans for all key stakeholders
  • Assure compliance of HR activities with applicable federal, state, and company specifications, laws and requirements
  • Foster an environment that promotes SRC’s goals, philosophies, culture and encourages continuous improvement


Position Requirements

  • Detail-oriented and attentive to the need for accurate data
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, proactively and with little supervision

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, with a concentration in human resources or business management or related discipline
  • Three or more years of broad and progressive human resources generalist experience required, preferably in a non-union, high-tech environment
  • PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate with all levels within the organization to gain willing cooperation to achieve business objectives
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including reporting, synthesizing data to identify themes and create solutions to address issues
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems
  • Travel up to 10 percent as needed
