HR Partner (HR Manager)

Varick Campus, Romulus, NY (on beautiful Seneca Lake!)

The HR Partner will focus on Performance Management, Talent Review, and organizational people activities at the senior levels of the organization. In addition, the HR Partner will support front-line supervisors and managers on Employee Relations through coaching. The role of the HR Partner will continue to ensure fair and consistent treatment of our employees in collaboration with our Supervisors, Managers and Leaders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Is an HR interface to Agency client groups and supports evolving agency goals through implementation of people practices.
  • Participates as a member of affiliate team management meetings involving operational and strategic activities.
  • Provides human resources guidance to front-line supervisors, managers and senior leaders; identifies and actively responds with sensitivity and appropriate sense of urgency to the needs of all employees.
  • Collaborates in the design of and ensures HR policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous employee relations improvement, remains open and responsive to change.
  • Investigates and makes recommendations on employee relations issues including, but not limited to progressive discipline and termination.
  • This position reports to the Director of Human Resources Partnerships.

Experience in a fast paced, changing environment is essential. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organization Development, Business Administration or equivalent is required. 6+ years direct HR Generalist/Partner experience required, including employee relations, conflict resolution, coaching employees at all levels, interpreting and applying HR policies, ensuring adherence to employment laws and standards.  5+ years in a management role where knowledge of basic management principles including planning and organizing, resource management, and people management was developed.   Ability to handle sensitive, complex, and confidential information.  Broad knowledge of the totality of HR products and services.   Experience successfully demonstrating the application of project management and problem solving skills to improve a process or address a need. Additional experience in other functional areas of HR is preferred.
