Compensation Manager


The Compensation Manager produces and manages the design, implementation, and administration of the organizations’ compensation program. Plans, develops and implements new and revised compensation programs, policies, procedures, in order to be responsive to the company’s goals, competitive practices and compensation philosophy. Provides expert oversight to assure the compensation program is consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations.  Is responsible for management of HRIS needs and deliverables for HROD.
Manages the company salary administration program, including the development and maintenance of formal grades, salary ranges, and job evaluation including job analysis, job description preparation and FLSA classification.

Develops and administers compensation policies and procedures. Monitors the effectiveness of the overall compensation program and recommends changes as appropriate which are both cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and organizational objectives.

Acts as consultant to management regarding pay decisions, policy and procedure interpretation and job evaluation including the design of innovative solutions to specific compensation related issues.  Determines and recommend annual salary increase budgets. Tracks annual merit and promotional increases to ensure adherence to budget.

Manages the compilation of compensation data for submission to local, regional, and national salary surveys. Analyzes results to determine company's competitive position. As appropriate, develops and conducts specialized surveys.

Works with HRIS and IT to effectively utilize the Oracle system to support the compensation program. Effectively communicates HRIS needs and provides department level support for reports and processes.

In conjunction with HROD strategy and efforts, assures that PMP data is tracked and managed.

Takes the lead in maintaining compliance with federal and state legislation for all compensation programs and works with Legal on complex issues requiring review.

Bachelor’s Degree  in Human Resources or Business Management required with a minimum of 5-8 years of relevant prior experience; including Human Resources including 3-5 years managing a compensation  function with knowledge of job evaluation, salary administration and  performance management.  Knowledge of appropriate statutes including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, Title VII, and other applicable laws, is necessary.  Proficiency in P.C. software, including Excel and Word, is essential.  Experience with Oracle is preferred. Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are vital.
