Birnie Bus Service, Inc. with 16 locations throughout New York State and 1 location in Florida seeks an experienced Human Resources Director.

Based out of our Rome, NY Corporate Headquarters, the successful candidate will be well experienced in the areas below,  with abilities to oversee the HR Department and all locations in accordance with Corporate policies and procedures.

• Performance management and improvement systems
• Compensation and benefits administration
• Employee relations and counseling
• Policy development and documentation
• Oversees and manages the work of reporting HR staff .  Encourages the ongoing development of the HR staff
• Complete knowledge of labor, legal, wage and hour laws; federal and state required reporting
• Recruiting and staffing
• Participates in employee action committees to foster better communication and solve issues between management and employees
• Conducts investigations when employee complaints or concerns are brought forth
• Leads Human Resources effort that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment and development of an excellent workforce

Excellent communication, organizational, people and computer skills a must.  Must portray a positive image to employees and customers at all times.  Other duties as assigned.

7 years+ of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions required. PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
