Murphy and Nolan, Inc. - Human Resources Administrator (Part Time)

 

Murphy and Nolan, Inc. is a successful CNY metal service center established over 60 years ago.  We have three locations—Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo—and approximately 60 employees throughout the region. 

We are seeking an experienced part-time administrator of human resources.  This HR professional will report to the president at the Syracuse headquarters and be responsible for coordinating recruiting, on-boarding, and performance management.  This person will manage all aspects of the HR function including payroll processing, new hire initiation, insurance and benefits enrollment and administration.

Regional travel between our three upstate locations will be required monthly.    

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of proven HR experience and be skilled in the areas below, with abilities to oversee the HR function over all locations in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.

  • Performance management and improvement systems
  • Compensation and benefits administration
  • Advising employees on job requirements, benefits, and company HR policies
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Working knowledge of labor, legal, wage and hour laws; federal and state required reporting
  • Recruiting and staffing
  • Leading an HR effort that fosters an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes quality, productivity, goal achievement and development of an excellent workforce

Excellent communication, organizational, people and computer skills are crucial.
