On-Site HR Manager (Part-Time - 16 hours/week) - HR Works (Endicott, NY)

Since 1991, HR Works, Inc. has provided a complete spectrum of human resource outsourcing and consulting services to clients of all sizes, in diverse industries throughout the United States. HR Works, Inc. is currently seeking an On-Site HR Manager who is looking for part-time  work (16 hours) in Endicott, NY.  This role will be responsible for; Recruiting, Onboarding, Benefits Administration, Employee Relations, Payroll Processing, and other HR functions.  This position must be able to work collaboratively and effectively with leaders and employees at all levels of this growing organization....

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer the full-cycle recruitment process, which includes position requisition creation/approval, job postings, external advertising, applicant tracking, screening candidates, interviewing, facilitating organizational interviewing and candidate selection in compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist the hiring manager with the creation of new position job descriptions.
  • Participate and present at New Employee Orientation to provide company and policy overview to new employees.
  • Process payroll using ADP service and web interface.
  • Operate at a high level to strategically apply, monitor and enforce employment laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to participate in strategic organizational development planning.
  • Maintain strict confidence in employment matters and partners with managers to fulfill employment related needs for functional area.
  • Assist with employee relations issues such as employee complaints and harassment allegations in consultation with senior staff.
  • Communicate benefit information and HRIS information to employees.
  • Audit and approve benefit invoices.
  • Communicate with benefit carriers and brokers on employee updates, qualifying events, and billing issues.
  • Administer FMLA and disability processes.
  • Provide answers to employees on benefits and compensation.
  • Maintain and prepare records, reports, and other required documents.
  • Compile reports and analyze data for employment trends for functional area and communicate results with the entire company management. 
  • Be available for occasional off-shift requirements. 
  • Administer Training Program.
  • Maintain OSHA records and training records.
  • Assist in development of training materials.
  • Participate in safety committee.
  • Participate in assessment of ergonomics and injury prevention efforts.
  • Maintain e-Verify records.

Qualifications:

  • Two to five (2-5) years of experience working as an HR professional is required.
  • College degree in a related field or applicable experience preferred.
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
  • HR experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various federal and state employment laws such as EEOC, FSLA, ADA, ADEA, FMLA and other applicable state, local and federal regulations.
  • Experience with ADP preferred.
  • Ability to perform presentations/training to small and large audiences.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders through both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data and information.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Work Environment:

  • Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100% of the workday).
  • Must be able to present to employees and address their questions.  Typically requires use of phone and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to traverse facility to review work environment and conditions.
