HR Generalist - JM Murray (Cortland, NY)

JM Murray is seeking an experienced human resources professional to provide guidance and support to all personnel and outside organizations relative the delivery of effective HR Programs, Policies, and Procedures. Act in an advisory capacity to employees and supervisors on issues related to company policies, benefits, employment opportunities, and other employee relations’ issues. Manage the recruiting process and ensure a comprehensive orientation for new employees; administer long term absence programs (disability, workers’ compensation and FMLA); participate in the review and administration of employee benefit programs; design and modify mandated reports for JMM.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field highly desired as well as 2-4 years direct experience in the human resource field. Solid understanding of all aspects of human resources services including employment law, wage and hour law, government regulations and compliance, Workers’ Compensation, NYS Disability, and FMLA regulations, and employee benefits required. Ability to handle sensitive and highly confidential information; excellent judgment; and foster and maintain effective working relationships with employees and management at all levels. Demonstrated ability to identify/evaluate issues, recommend solutions or alternatives, and make timely and effective confidential decisions. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Strong computer skills including data analysis, reporting, and presentations. Experience with employee benefits administration and practices highly desired.
