HR Business Partner - Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (Syracuse)

Innovative Interfaces, Inc. is looking for a HR Business Partner for their global HR team.  This position will be based in Syracuse, but will have responsibility for supporting global teams.  The HRBP serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues. Successful HRBP will act as employee champion and change agent.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:

  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Consult with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.  Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Leads recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts for respective business units.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
  • Identify and develops a strategy for training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • B.A. in Human Resources, Business, or related field or the equivalent combination of experience and education.  PHR or SPHR highly desired.  MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources. Minimum of 2-3 years of HR business partner experience.  Experience working as the sole HR      practitioner in an office highly desired.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, benefits administration, and performance management, federal and state respective employment laws.
  • In-depth experience dealing with complex employee relations issues.
  • Experience in organizational and change management.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal labor laws.  Knowledge of international labor laws a plus.
  • International HR experience a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.  Fluency in another language desired.

  • Ability to understand issues domestically and internationally and communicate effectively with clients.
