Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for financial benefits processes and program administration of benefits plans including a 401(k) plan, retirement plans, and incentive compensation programs.
  • Interacts with and establishes processes and working relationships with health benefits providers regarding various benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life/disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, wellness, etc.
  • Interfaces with financial and health benefits providers and serves as a subject matter expert. Interacts with Payroll vendor/administrator. Keeps abreast of current federal and state legislation and ensures all plans are in compliance. Completes all governmental required filings in a timely manner and serves as the key compliance liaison for internal and external auditors, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develops recommendations for benefit program changes.
  • Communicates employee benefit programs.
  • Drafts and/or reviews summary plan descriptions, benefits summaries, and booklets/documents. Prepares annual retirement account calculations/contributions.
  • Addresses and resolves employee questions/issues.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Must have at least six years of experience in financial and health benefits program development and administration.
  • Must possess comprehensive understanding and benefits knowledge specific to compliance, legal, and regulatory requirements of benefits plans.
  • Prefer Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification.
  • High level of proficiency with computer systems including the Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and enterprise/mainframe systems.
