Corporate HR Generalist - The Widewaters Group (Dewitt, NY)

The Widewaters Group and Widewaters Hotels, LLC is looking for a dynamic and experienced Human Resource Generalist to work out of our corporate office in Dewitt, NY.  Widewaters is a growing real estate development & management company who manages multiple diversified affiliate companies in multiple states.  Our hotel division is expanding rapidly.

What you will be doing:

The HR Generalist will assist the VP of Human Resources and other department staff with the confidential administration of human resource and operations issues including:

  1. Company Policies and Procedures – Handbook, etc.
  2. Group Benefits Administration (Health, Dental, Short & Long-Term Disability, Life, 401(k) Plan)
  3. Selection & Placement of Personnel, including On-Boarding
  4. Employee Relations – Communication, Performance Evaluations, Discipline & Counseling & Company Functions/Events
  5. Unemployment
  6. Workers' Compensation
  7. HR Compliance Filings such as Affirmative Action, EEO, etc.
  8. Separations & COBRA
  9. HRIS Technology & Records Management
  10. Training & Development – Employees and Management
  11. Health, Safety & Security
  12. Budgeting, Projections & Statistics – Reporting Key Indicators to Management
  13. Periodically bidding out-Sourcing Vendors
  14. Company & HR Department Operations & Standard Operational Procedures

REQUIREMENTS:    

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • 5 years of Human Resources experience, Hospitality environment a plus.
  • A designation from the Society of Human Resources Management is preferred (PHR, SPHR)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound business and human relations judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to Travel Periodically
