The Central New York Chapter of the Society for HR Management (CNYSHRM) is offering a
hybrid program for our members on September 21 st at 8am title the Legal Update: Pay
Transparency and More


Beginning September 17, 2023, New York State will be the latest state to join the Pay
Transparency trend. This session will discuss the complexities of New York State’s pay
transparency regulations, as well as discuss best practices in implementing a transparency
strategy that aligns with your organization’s values and supports pay equity.


In addition, this session with discuss additional upcoming labor and employment related topics that
affect New York State employers.

Hannah K. Redmond

 

Hannah is a management side labor and employment attorney representing employers in all phases of the employment cycle – from hiring through separation, and beyond. Hannah works with public and private sector employers across a broad range of industries.

 

Hannah regularly defends employers against claims of discrimination, retaliation and harassment in state and federal court, and in administrative proceedings before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state agencies such as the New York State Division of Human Rights.

 

Working closely with management, Hannah counsels on a wide variety of matters, such as discrimination, retaliation and harassment; workplace investigations; compliance with wage and hour laws; navigating various

leave issues; disability and religious accommodations; and employee handbook and policy review.

 

Hannah also focuses her practice on traditional labor matters, counseling and representing employers with unionized workforces. Hannah represents employers before the National Labor Relations Board and in labor arbitrations. She also assists clients with labor contract negotiations.

Stephanie H. Fedorka

 

Stephanie is a management-side labor and employment attorney, serving clients in both the public and private sector. She advises clients regarding day-to-day labor relations and employment law issues that arise, including assisting clients in navigating the complexities of various state and federal leave laws, wage and hour issues and revising or drafting workplace policies including handbook drafting and revising.

 

Stephanie also has experience with traditional labor relations matters, including negotiating collective bargaining agreements, representing management in arbitrations arising from contract grievances as well as in unfair labor practice or improper practice charges proceedings and serving as labor counsel in business transactions .

 

Stephanie has experience representing clients before the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the NYS Department of Labor, the US Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division, the Public Employment Relations Board, and the National Labor Relations Board.

 

She represents clients in state and federal civil actions and appeals arising from employment related claims, such as discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims arising under state and federal anti-discrimination and equal protection laws.

 

Stephanie also served as the Secretary and Vice President of the Latin American Law Student Association and as the Editor in Chief of the Syracuse Law and Civic Engagement Forum at the Syracuse University College of Law. Stephanie is one of the original members of the recently founded ARRIBA, a Committee of the Puerto Rican Bar Association, a Central and Upstate New York Latinx/Hispanic bar association committee.

 

While earning her Juris Doctor at the College of Law, Stephanie simultaneously earned her Master’s in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
